CMM at the Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010
Connect Multimedia are providing on-site Audio Visual expertise to the Host Broadcaster of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India
A demanding project build
As most of the press has been indicating lately, the Indian government has been struggling to get the facilities together in time for the Commonwealth Games which commenced on the 3rd October 2010. We were called in to help get the Badminton television coverage on air.
System failure and bureaucracy were the main obstacles building the audio visual system that delivers television sound and pictures to the world. Guarantee engineers Rob, Steve and a Malaysian Engineering team from Astro Arena managed to get the broadcast compound together in time for the opening ceremony and first transmission which was the following day.

Master Control - Not the neatest installation we've worked on, but it worked!
As you can see from the pictures to the left, the master control area where all TV cameras, graphics, communications, switching, timing, video record and playback control and audio systems are inter-connected, neatness for this temporary installation was not paramount to the success of this mission.
With complex audio visual systems like these, the cabling has to be easily accessible to allow immediate access if we have a system or cable failure. The interconnecting cables here are used to connect various equipment together to produce the quality high definition television pictures the home viewer is accustomed to seeing.
Over the 11 days of the games, 1400 hours of television will be produced by over 2000 production and technical personnel.
Connect Multimedia are proud to be involved with such a demanding project and thrilled to be the go-to people for international audio visual installations of this magnitude.
